To provide 2-(dimethylamino)-1-(dimethylaminomethyl)ethyl meth(acrylate).
This method for producing the compound represented by formula (I) (wherein, R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group; and R2 is a 1-4C linear alkyl group) by reacting a compound represented by formula (II) (wherein, R1 and R2 have the above meanings) with an alcohol represented by formula (III) is characterized in that the reaction is carried out by using dibutyltin oxide as an ester interchange reaction catalyst.
