Abstract:
To provide a production method that can produce high-purity 2,5-dihydroxy terephthalic acid at high yield.SOLUTION: A method for producing high-purity 2,5-dihydroxy terephthalic acid includes following steps: (A) adding an adsorbent to an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal salt of 2,5-dihydroxy terephthalic acid, bringing the adsorbent into contact with the aqueous solution, and the removing the adsorbent; and (B) subjecting the aqueous solution resulting from step (A) to acid precipitation, and separating and recovering the precipitated crystal of 2,5-dihydroxy terephthalic acid.SELECTED DRAWING: None
