Abstract:

To provide a method for producing high-quality 3-(2- bromopropionyl)-4,4-dimethyloxazolidin-2-one in an industrially advantageous way.

This method for producing 3-(2-bromopropionyl)-4,4- dimethyloxazolidin-2-one comprises reacting 4,4-dimethyloxazolidin-2-one with chlorotrimethylsilane in toluene or a chlorobenzene in the presence of a tertiary amine followed by reaction with a 2-bromopropionyl halide.
