Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desulfurizing agent which can efficiently remove sulfur contents in a petroleum-based hydrocarbon down to a low concentration and has a long life, and to provide a method for producing hydrogen for fuel batteries. SOLUTION: This Ni-Cu-based desulfurizing agent is characterized by carrying (A) nickel, (B) copper and (C) at least one metal selected from alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, noble metals and rare earth elements on a carrier, and the method for producing the hydrogen for fuel batteries, is characterized by desulfurizing a petroleum-based hydrocarbon oil with the Ni-Cu-based desulfurizing agent and then bringing the desulfurized petroleum- based hydrocarbon oil into contact with a steam reformation catalyst.
