Abstract:
To provide novel methods that can produce desired acetophenone compounds and hydroxyacetophenone compounds at good yields.SOLUTION: An acetophenone compound production method includes a process in which, in an aprotic organic solvent, a first liquid mixture obtained by mixing an acetic anhydride and an aromatic compound of the formula (I) is brought into contact with a Lewis acid, to produce an acetophenone compound of the formula (II) [where R1 is a hydroxy group protection group, R2 is an amino group protection group, and Ar is an optionally substituted aromatic ring group] [where R1, R2 and Ar are the same definitions as in the formula (I)].SELECTED DRAWING: None
