Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing the corresponding alcohol by reacting an aldehyde, a ketone compound or a higher fatty acid ester with hydrogen.
CONSTITUTION: When an aldehyde, a ketone compound or a higher fatty acid ester is reacted with hydrogen, a modified Naney copper catalyst obtained by developing a Cu/Al/Fe or Cu/Al/Fe/Zn alloy is used.
