Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an allene having a fluorine-containing alkyl group, which can safely, readily and highly selectively be produced as a main product.

A carboxylic acid or a sulfonic acid ester each derived from iodoallyl alcohol compound is reacted with zinc in the presence or absence of chlorinated trimethylsilane in an aprotic solvent to provide the allene having the fluorine-containing alkyl group represented by general formula (1) (wherein R is a 1-8C fluorine-containing alkyl group; R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom, a 1-12C alkyl group which may have a substituent group, a benzyl group or a 6-10C aryl group).
