Abstract:
To obtain an amide compound from a hydroxy-containing organic compound by one step.
The method for producing the amide compound comprises causing intermolecular dehydration condensation between the hydroxy group of the hydroxy-containing organic compound with the amide group of a nitrogen source compound by one step in the coexistence of at least one kind of the hydroxy-containing organic compound selected from the group consisting of a primary or secondary linear alcohol, an alicyclic alcohol, an aromatic alcohol and saccharide, and the nitrogen source compound by using water in a subcritical or supercritical state as a reaction solvent to provide the amide compound.
