Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an aromatic halogen compound in high yield by using an aromatic amine compound as a raw material, simpler in operability and capable of being produced at a low cost with requiring a small addition in a facility.

This method for producing an aromatic halogen compound is to react an aromatic amine with a nitrite or a nitrous acid ester in an acidic condition in the presence of a halide of chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper or zinc, and copper acetate, copper sulfate or an alkali metal iodide.
