To manufacture an aromatic iodine compound under a mild condition at low cost and high yield.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of an aromatic iodine compound by reacting an aromatic compound and an iodination agent in a presence of a catalyst, in which disulfide represented by the following general formula (1) is used as the catalyst. In the formula (1), Ris an alkyl group, a phenyl group (which may have a substituent) or a naphthyl group (which may have a substituent), and 2 Rs may be same or different.SELECTED DRAWING: None
