Abstract:

To provide barium titanyl oxalate in which the change of specific surface area to calcination temperature is suppressed to a low value in a stable quality and high yield.

The method for producing barium titanyl oxalate comprises adding an aqueous solution (a liquid A) containing titanium tetrachloride and barium chloride to an aqueous solution (a liquid B) containing at least an oxalic acid ion and an ammonium ion to carry out reaction. In the resultant barium titanyl oxalate, the molar ratio (Ba/Ti) of Ba to Ti is preferably <1, further preferably 0.990-0.999.
