Abstract:
To provide a method for commercially advantageously producing a benzaldehyde compound having a phenoxy alkyl group which may be substituted at the ortho position.
A halobenzene compound represented by formula (3) (wherein X1 is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom; Q1 and Q2 are each same or different and they are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like which may be substituted; n is 1 or 2) is reacted with a metal magnesium and then, the resultant compound is reacted with a formylating agent, to produce the corresponding benzaldehyde compound.
