To provide a production method which can synthesize a bicyclo[2.2.2]octylamine derivative represented by general formula (1) efficiently in a large quantity.
In a production method which can synthesize a bicyclo[2.2.2]octylamine derivative represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof efficiently in a large quantity, when being produced from a bicyclo[2.2.2]octyldicarboxylic acid derivative represented by general formula (2), a rearrangement reaction and a subsequent isocyanate group decomposition reaction are carried out without isolation (in the formula, R1 represents an alkyl group or the like).
