Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING BIS(PHENYLTHIO)BENZENES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001302615
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for producing bis(phenylthio)benzenes at an industrially low cost and the bis(phenylthio)benzenes without having a thiophenol smell by treating the un-reacted thiophenol in a reaction liquid for no-smelling.

This method for producing the bis(phenylthio)benzenes expressed by the following general formula (3') is characterized by reacting dihalobenzenes expressed by the following general formula (1) (wherein X1, X2 are each independently a halogen atom) with thiophenol expressed by the following formula (2) in an aqueous solution, and the method for producing the bis(phenylthio) bezenes is provided by reacting the un-reacted thiophenol in the reaction liquid after reacting the dihalobenzenes with the thiophenol in the aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide to produce an alkylphenylsulfide derivative for treating the product as not smelling.
