Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a PBT in a good productivity by substantially eliminating the effects of reaction inhibition and color tone deterioration.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a butylene terephthalate oligomer is characterized by (1) removing ≥50 % number of moles of 2, 3-dihydrofuran and/or 2-hydroxytetrahydrofuran based on the number of moles of 2-(4'-hydroxy)tetrahydrofuran contained in 1, 4-butanediol supplied into an esterification reaction vessel, through a distillation column attached to the esterification reaction vessel to the outside of the system, and also, (2) removing ≥20 % number of moles of acetic acid and/or 1-acetoxy-4-hydroxybutane based on the number of moles of 1-acetoxy-4-hydroxybutane contained in 1, 4-butanediol supplied into the esterification reaction vessel, through the distillation column attached to the esterification reaction vessel to the outside of the system.
