Abstract:

To provide a method for producing ε-caprolactam by using CDS-1.

The method for producing ε-caprolactam is characterized by using a novel zeolite (Cylindrical Double Saw-Edged Zeolite-1, hereinafter referred to as CDS-1) which is obtained by the dehydration polycondensation of a crystalline phyllosilicate compound, has a chemical composition represented by [(Si36-XTYO72)MZ] (wherein M is an alkali metal cation of Li, Na, K, Rb or the like; T is Al, Ga, Fe or Ce as a skeleton substituting element; 0≤x≤3.0; 0≤y≤1.0; and 0≤z≤3.0), and has a fine pore structure composed of Si-O covalent bonds as a catalyst in the method for producing ε-caprolactam from cyclohexanone oxime.
