Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBOXYLIC ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3772210
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carboxylic acid, by which the carboxylic acid can safely, simply and efficiently be obtained from an aliphatic alcohol compound by its reaction with a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution in a high yield in simple reaction operations under mild reaction conditions in extremely low toxicity without affecting environments and human bodies and without needing a solvent-removing operation after the finish of the reaction.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the carboxylic acid is characterized by reacting an alicyclic alcohol oily solution with a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution in the presence of a catalyst containing the compound of a metal of the group 6 in the periodic table. The compound of the metal of the group 6 in the periodic table is at least one of the compounds of a metal selected from chromium, molybdenum and tungsten.
