In this method for producing a CMC salt by throwing a solvent- containing CMC salt into a dryer and drying, the amount of the solvent in the solvent-containing CMC salt is 30-60 wt.%, the amount of methanol in the solvent is 30-90 wt.%, the amount of 2-4C alcohols is 3-60 wt.% and the water content is 2-20 wt.%. The temperature of the solvent-containing CMC salt thrown into the dryer is 50-100°C and the temperature of wall surface in the dryer is 50-150°C and a solvent vapor evaporating in the drying is sucked under 0-94.6 kPa.
