To provide a method for producing a compound for generating hydrogen gas and having weak adverse effects.

This method for producing the compound for generating the hydrogen gas includes the step of fermenting the fruits of Hippophae rhamnoides and the powder of Crepidiastrum lonceolatum by lactobacillus. Here, the compound for forming the hydrogen gas consists of the one molecule of resveratrol, two molecules of gallic acid and one molecule of magnesium, and the carboxyl group of the one molecule of gallic acid is bonded to the hydroxy group of two phenolic hydroxy groups of the resveratrol through ester linkage. The method of the production includes adding 0.01 to 0.09 pt.wt. of powder of Crepidiastrum lonceolatum, and 0.004 to 0.01 pt.wt. of lactobacillus with respect to 1 pt.wt. of rhamnoides fruits, heated to 34 to 48°C and fermented for 24 to 98 hr, and further, the obtained compound for forming the hydrogen gas can be applied in the fields of pharmaceuticals, foods and cosmetics.
