Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester resin which has not only excellent processability but also excellent transparency and chromaticity and is copolymerized from a glycol such as 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, etc., and a dicarboxylic acid.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a copolyester resin comprises a step for esterifying a dicarboxylic acid with ethylene glycol and another glycol and a step for polycondensing the esterification product in the presence of a titanium dioxide/silicon dioxide coprecipitate catalyst, the catalyst being in the form of 4% or less content by weight suspension in glycol, in which the copolyester resin has the other glycol content ranging from 20 to 80% of the total glycol content.
