Abstract:

Preparation of dibenzothiazepine derivatives of formula (5) comprises reaction of 1-(X)-2-(R4)-3-(R3)-4-(R2)-5-(R5)-nitrobenzene derivatives (1) with thiosalicylic acid derivatives of formula (2), reduction of the resultant 2-nitro-2'-carboxy-diphenylsulfide derivatives of formula (3), and dehydration condensation of the resultant 2-amino-2'-carboxy-diphenylsulfide derivatives of formula (4). R1-R8 = hydrogen, (un)substituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkylcarbonyl, aryl, aryloxy, arylcarbonyl; X = halogen. 2-Nitro-2'-carboxy-diphenylsulfide derivatives of formula (3) are new.
