Abstract:
To provide a novel method of producing dicyanoglutaric diester in which 2-cyanoacrylate widely used in instant adhesives is used as a raw material.
The condensation product between cyanoacetate and formaldehyde is depolymerized in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor, the yielded distillation component is fractionated to obtain dicyanoglutaric diester. The depolymerization reaction is carried out as at least a part of the dicyanoglutaric diester obtained from the partial condensate is being recycled.
