To provide a method for producing a distyryl derivative, by which the highly pure distyryl derivative can be produced in a high yield, while effectively inhibiting the production of monostyryl derivatives, even when the distyryl derivative is produced from a diformyl compound as a main raw material, to provide a method for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the distyryl derivative, and to provide a highly sensitive electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent electric characteristics.
This method for producing the distyryl derivative comprises producing the distyryl derivative from the diformyl compound as a main raw material. The method for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor uses the same. The electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by the production method is characterized in that the ratio of the target peak area of the diformyl compound to the total peak area of raw materials is ≥70% measured with liquid chromatography.
