Provided is a method for producing the epoxy compound, characterized by epoxidizing the unsaturated compound having at least one carbon-carbon double bond with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a basic nitrogen-containing compound and a catalyst comprising a tungsten compound, a quaternary ammonium salt and a phosphoric acid-related compound to produce an epoxy compound corresponding to the unsaturated compound. The epoxidation reaction may be performed under a condition of pH 2 to 7.
