Abstract:
To provide a method for readily carrying out filtration in a method for producing an ester by reacting an organic acid with an alcohol in the presence of an organometallic catalyst while removing water formed as a by- product, producing the ester, then adding water to the reactional product liquid, decomposing the organometallic catalyst, subsequently filtering the resultant liquid and removing insoluble substances.
Nonfouling solid particles are dispersed in the reactional product liquid and water is then added to decompose the organometallic catalyst.
