To provide a method for producing a novel expandable modified polystyrene-based resin particle that has high stability over the time of days.SOLUTION: The method for producing expandable modified polystyrene-based resin particle includes a polymerization step in which, within a polystyrene-based resin particle, a styrene-based monomer and a conjugated diene-based monomer are impregnated and polymerized to yield a modified polystyrene-based resin particle, and an impregnation step in which an antioxidant together with a foaming agent are impregnated into the modified polystyrene-based resin particle.SELECTED DRAWING: None
