Abstract:
To provide a method for producing fatty acid alkylesters and/or glycerol at a reduced cost.
The method for producing fatty acid alkylesters and/or glycerol is characterized by making use of at least a part of the caloric value of alcohols remaining unreacted in a first reaction process as a heat source for a process of recovering alcohols from the above alcohols remaining unreacted therein, whereby the cost of producing fatty acid alkylesters and/or glycerol in the presence of a solid catalyst is reduced.
