Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a fluorinated bisphenyl compound (formula (b)) on an industrial scale safely under a mild condition.

This method for producing the fluorinated bisphenyl compound comprises reacting a diazonium compound salt (formula (a)) [R to R8 are each hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; Q is a single bond, an alkylene group, a halogenated alkylene group, or the like; A is 2X1 (X1 is a monovalent anion) or X2 (X2 is a bivalent anion) with a fluorine-based Lewis acid.
