Abstract:
To provide a suitable method for producing a fluorophor having high emission efficiency when emitting red fluorescence on absorbing ultraviolet to blue light in particular.
The fluorophor is such that an activator element such as Eu is contained in a matrix compound containing a bivalent metal element such as Sr, a trivalent metal element such as Y and sulfur. The method for producing the fluorophor comprises heating a raw material compound containing the metal elements constituting the fluorophor in the presence of sulfur simple substance or a sulfur-containing compound and carbon simple substance or a carbon-containing compound.
