To provide a method for producing vanillin capable of easily and efficiently producing the vanillin.SOLUTION: A method for producing a food material or a feed material includes a step of reacting ozone to at least one raw material selected from fruits of gramineous plants for food or feed and fractionations thereof. The step of reacting ozone is preferably any one elected from a step of passing ozone through a solution prepared by charging the raw material into a solvent, a step of dipping the raw material into ozone water, and a step of spraying the ozone directly on the raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
