To provide methods that can produce high-purity formamide compounds at good yields.SOLUTION: According to this method, a liquid mixture containing a formate of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, an organic solvent, and water with a moisture content of 0.10 mass% or more and 1.60 mass% or less, an acid halide, and an amine salt compound represented by the formula (I) are mixed to produce a corresponding amide compound.SELECTED DRAWING: None
