Abstract:
To provide a method for obtaining a fuel gas having a reduced hydrogen concentration by a simple and economically advantageous method that does not require reaction under extremely high pressure conditions or installation of expensive decarbonation equipment when hydrogen and carbon oxide are methanized in the presence of a methanation catalyst to produce a fuel gas containing methane as a main component.SOLUTION: The method for producing the fuel gas comprises: a methanation step for reacting hydrogen and a carbon oxide in the presence of the methanation catalyst to obtain the fuel gas 2 containing 2 vol.% or more to 10 vol.% or less of hydrogen on a volume basis after dehydration; and a hydrogenation reaction step for reacting hydrogen in the fuel gas 2 and an olefin hydrocarbon 3 having 2 or more to 4 or less carbon atoms in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to obtain fuel gas 4 containing paraffin hydrocarbons having 2 or more and 4 or less carbon atoms after adding an olefin hydrocarbon 3 having 2 or more carbon atoms to 4 or less carbon atoms to the fuel gas 2 obtained in the methanation step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
