Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a heavy metal-collecting ion exchange fiber, by which a stable liquid phase radiation graft polymerization can be performed at a lowered production cost to stably produce the high performance heavy metal-collecting ion exchange fiber.

This method for producing the heavy metal-collecting ion exchange fiber, comprising subjecting a substrate fiber to a radiation-grafting polymerization, is characterized by comprising an irradiation process for irradiating the substrate fiber with radiations in an oxygen-removed state and a polymerization process for immersing the radiation-irradiated substrate fiber in a monomer solution having been used for the graft-polymerization to graft-polymerize.
