Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an inorganic phosphor excellent in a luminance property with a small particle size.

The method for producing an inorganic phosphor comprises: (1) in the method for producing the inorganic phosphor represented by formula 1: xlMlO-ylMgO-zlAl2O3 (wherein Ml is at least one metallic element selected from a group consisting of Ba, Sr and Ca, and a multicomponent oxide comprises 0.5≤xi≤4.5, 0≤yl≤4, and 0.5≤zl≤20), drying a precursor of the inorganic phosphor using an air stream type drier; (2) forming the precursor using a liquid phase method; (3) an average particle size of a first order particle in the precursor being not more than 1 μm; and (4) in the manufacturing method of the inorganic phosphor, drying by supplying a solution containing a constitutional metallic element of the inorganic phosphor.
