In the method of producing an iron based shape memory alloy pipe, at the time when a pipe formed of an iron based shape memory alloy as the stock of a pipe fitting is cast, Ti as an element more easily bonded with N than the case of Al is added to the molten metal of an iron based shape memory alloy in a range where it is bonded with the whole N contained in the alloy, and also the amount of titanium compounds disturbing the formation of columnar crystals is regulated within an allowable range. Thus, the precipitation of AlN on the solidification of the alloy is suppressed to obtain a columnar crystal ratio of ≥50%, so that the inside diameter shrinkage rate of the pipe fitting using the pipe as the stock is increased to improve the fastening force of the pipe.
