Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-PHENYLALANINE BY FERMENTATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0549489
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title amino acid useful for medicine, etc., industrially and advantageously by culturing a variant belonging to the genus Brevibacterium, having tyrosine-demanding properties, L-phenylalanine-L-tyrosine resistance and L-phenylalanine productivity.

CONSTITUTION: A variant [e.g. Brevibacterium lactofermentum AJ12,638 (FERM P-12,382)] belonging to the genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium, having tyrosine-demanding properties, L-phenylalanine-L-tyrosine resistance and L- phenylalanine productivity is inoculated into a medium, subjected to shaking culture at 31.5°C for 72 hours and L-phenylalanine is formed and accumulated in the culture solution. The cells are removed from the culture solution, which is properly concentrated. The product is separated and purified by a method of adjusting pH of the solution to an isoelectric point of L-phenylalanine and crystallizing or a method of using an ion exchange resin to give the objective L-phenylalanine productivity inexpensively and efficiently.
