To produce a lightweight wood plastic foam molding by mixing masterbatched thermally expandable microcapsules into thermoplastic resin and cellulose material.
The method for producing the lightweight wood plastic foam molding includes a step of masterbatching the thermally expandable microcapsules with base resin, and a step of melting and kneading the thermoplastic resin, cellulose material and masterbatched thermally expandable microcapsules at the ratio of 50 to 70 pts.wt.: 30 to 50 pts.wt.: 4 to 6 pts.wt. and performing extrusion molding or injection molding. In the method, the melting point of the base resin is equal to or below the foaming start temperature of the thermally expandable microcapsules and is also equal to or below the melting point of the thermoplastic resin.
