Abstract:

To produce a liquid crystal polyester film having excellent thermal conductivity in a thickness direction.

The method for producing a liquid crystal polyester film comprises: casting a liquid composition containing a liquid crystal polyester and a solvent; then removing the solvent; raising a temperature of the obtained film from at most 150°C to a temperature of at least a liquid crystal transition temperature and at most 80°C above the liquid crystal transition temperature of the liquid crystal polyester at a rate of at least 1.0°C/minute; and heat-treating at a temperature of at least the liquid crystal transition temperature and at most 80°C above the liquid crystal transition temperature of the liquid crystal polyester to obtain the liquid crystal polyester film. It is preferred to use, as the liquid crystal polyester, those having a liquid crystal transition temperature of at most 320°C.
