Abstract:

To provide a method for producing liquid polysulfide capable of reducing greatly the generation amount of hydrogen sulfide generated in a side reaction.

In this method for producing liquid polysulfide not forming solid polysulfide, sodium polysulfide and an α,ω-dihalo organic compound are reacted in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and sodium sulfite.
