Abstract:

To provide a new method for producing a mesoporous metal oxide, which can be applied even to a transition metal.

The method for producing a mesoporous metal oxide includes: a hydrolysis step where a hydrolyzable metal compound is added to a solution of a cyclic oligomer having a plurality of substituents capable of coordinating with a metal element and comprising a plurality of benzene rings, and the hydrolyzable metal compound is hydrolyzed in the solution to form a hydrolyzate; and a firing step where the hydrolyzate is separated from the solution and the resulting hydrolyzate is fired.
