Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for differentiating mesodermal cells into mesothelial cells.SOLUTION: The present invention provides, for example, a method for producing mesothelial cells, the method including a first culture step for culturing mesoderm cells in a medium containing a basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and Oncostatin M. The method for producing mesothelial cells further comprises a first sorting step selected from the following (i) to (ii) after the first culture step: (i) sorting cells positive for podocalyxin protein 1 (PCLP1) and positive for mesothelin; and (ii) sorting cells positive for PCLP1 and positive for an activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM). The method for producing mesothelial cells further comprises a second step for culturing cells in a medium containing bFGF and Oncostatin M after the first sorting step, the medium in the second culture step further including Insulin-transferrin-selenium-X (ITS-X).SELECTED DRAWING: None
