Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an N-monoalkyl-3-hydroxy-3-arylpropylamine.
The method for producing the N-monoalkyl-3-hydroxy-3-arylpropylamine of formula(3)( wherein, Ar, R1 and * mean the same as mentioned below ) comprises carrying out an asymmetric reduction of the corresponding compound of formula(1)[ wherein, Ar is a (substituted) aryl or (substituted) heteroaryl; R1 is a (substituted) 1-5C alkyl; and R2 is an amino-protecting group ] with an asymmetric catalyst to form a compound of formula(2)( wherein, Ar, R1 and R2 mean the same as mentioned above; and * denotes an asymmetric carbon atom ) followed by deprotection.
