Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a process for producing a needle shield assembly which satisfies the need for the needle shield assembly of a self-housing type which is not reusable by detaining a needle shield to a closed needle protective position.
SOLUTION: A slender robust needle cover 37 having a cylindrical side wall and an opened base end 39 freely removable engages with a hub 28 and covers a needle cannula 21. A means for detaining the needle shield 45 to the closed needle protective position includes a needle cannula detaining means for holding the needle cannula 21 in the long hole of the needle shield 45. The needle cannula detaining means includes an arm 58 projecting from the inner flank of the needle shield 45 and a lateral projecting part 61 at its free end. This lateral projecting part 61 is held in the needle shield 45 as the needle cannula 21 trespasses the lateral projecting part 61 like a snap when the needle shield 45 is pivotally moved to the closing position.
