Abstract:

To provide a method of efficiently producing a norbornene derivative of high purity upon producing a specific norbornene derivative.

The method of producing the norbornene derivative is characterized by forming cyclopentadiene by subjecting dicyclopentadiene to thermal decomposition, and by carrying out a Diels-Alder reaction by continuously contacting the resulting cyclopentadiene with a compound such as methylmethacrylate.
