To provide a method for producing an optical collimator sheet by which a high performance optical collimator sheet which efficiently converges diffused light, has high directivity and gives high luminance collimated light can easily be produced with good productivity.
A coating fluid containing a binder, two or more solvents different from each other in the boiling point and a dispersed light scattering material is applied on a transparent substrate and many light transmissive spheres are scattered on the coating fluid while the coating fluid is in a semi-hardened state. The light transmissive spheres not bonded to the coating fluid are removed, the bonded light transmissive spheres are pressed and brought into contact with the substrate and then the coating fluid is hardened to produce the objective optical collimator sheet.
