Abstract:

To provide an industrial method for producing an optically resoluble substance of (±)-2-methylpiperazine and obtaining a desired optically active substance in good efficiency and good yield, with a remarkably reduced amount of relatively expensive optically active organic acid by making an optically inactive acid exist as a counter ion of an undesired optically active substance.

When obtaining a salt of an optically resoluble substance of 2-methylpiperazine with an optically active dibasic acid A1 by reacting (±)-2- methylpiperazine with the optically active dibasic acid A1 in a solvent, a salt S1 of desired optically resoluble substance in 2-methylpiperazine with the optically active dibasic acid A1 is formed by carrying out the above reaction in the presence of an optically inactive acid A2.
