To provide a method for producing an organic silver salt dispersion having fine particles and a uniform size distribution, and a heat developable photosensitive material having a good applied surface state and excellent in granular property.
This method for preparing the organic silver salt dispersion by mixing an aqueous solution (solution A) of a water soluble silver ion donor with an aqueous solution (solution B) of an alkali metal salt of an organic acid and the heat developable photosensitive material produced from the same are characterized in that (1) the mixing is performed in the presence of at least 1 kind of a compound selected from a polyacrylamide and its derivatives, and (2) at least 10 mass% organic silver salt based on the amount of silver in the organic silver salt dispersion is formed by the simultaneous addition/mixing of the solution A and solution B.
