Abstract:
To provide a method for producing phenol, MEK and acetone in an improved yield in terms of wholly usable products by oxidation of a mixture containing cumene and s-butylbenzene and a Hock decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide and s-butylbenzene hydroperoxide produced in the oxidation.
In this method for producing phenol, methyl ethyl ketone and acetone by oxidizing a mixture containing s-butylbenzene and cumene with a molecular oxygen-containing gas and subjecting s-butylbenzene peroxide and cumene hydroperoxide to a Hock decomposition, the content of cumene in the mixture containing s-butylbenzene and cumene is 3-15 mass %.
