Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing pimelic acid, which is the method for producing the pimelic acid by fermentation from a biomass.SOLUTION: The method for producing the pimelic acid includes culturing microorganisms to which bioI gene actively linked to a promoter is introduced to allow the pimelic acid to be produced. The recombinant microorganisms excluding Escherichia coli is obtained by introducing the bioI gene actively linked to the promoter thereto. Preferably, the recombinant microorganism is Bacillus subtilis.
