To provide a method for producing a pleated and dyed fabric by which the dyeing can be applied to an arbitrary face or part of the fabric, and which can rapidly correspond to various kinds of requirements in a pattern and a pleat shape.

The method for producing the pleated and dyed fabric is carried out as follows. Not only pleating processing but also dyeing processing are carried out by using a pleating apparatus 1. In the dyeing processing, transfer printing is applied. Transfer papers 20 and 21 to which a sublimation-type dyeing ink is imparted are fed so as to be parallel to the fabric 2 to be subjected to the pleating in the pleating apparatus 1, and a heating/pressing step for setting the pleats formed by the pleating is combined with a heating/pressing step for the transfer printing.
